ATTENTION: POLLUTION CONTROL OFFICER/s AND/OR MANAGING HEAD/S
Dear co-PCOs and Environment Managers,
Warm greetings from PCAPI Region IV-A Chapter!

The Pollution Control Association of the Philippines (PCAPI) Region IV-A Chapter in coordination with the DENR – Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Region IV-A will hold its

4th Biennial PCO Summit
on 19th October 2017 at the Angelfields Nature Sanctuary, Purok 5,
Tagaytay-Sta. Rosa Road, Brgy. Pasong Langka, Silang, Cavite
Cutting across all industry sectors, this year’s PCO Summit is themed “#pcogoals #clearGES” to discuss the policy implications of the new General Effluent Standards (GES) issued by the DENR. Under the new DAO (DAO 2016-08), new industry standards were set and compliance requirements laid out. As PCOs, we hope to look into how industries are to specifically meet the conditions that have become more stringent; to assess how PCOs and industries are ready with the new criterions; present options how to improve and attain compliance; and determine how various government agencies, necessitated under RA 9275 to improve the quality of water in the Philippines, have realized their respective mandates.

We hope you could join us in this one day full of gathering and expounding of ideas, knowledge exchanges and solutions demonstration. PCAPI 4A’s 4th PCO Summit will be highlighted by plenary sessions and environmental services exhibition.

Attendance to this PCO Summit shall be equivalent to eight (8) accredited training hours which may be used as part of the required training hours for PCO Accreditation.
Thank you very much and we look forward to see you at the Summit!

Objectives
This year’s PCO Summit aims to draw attention to the issues relating to the implementation and compliance to Philippine Clear Water Act and the new policy issuance on Water Quality Guidelines and General Effluent Standards (GES). With the new GES, parameters have become more stringent, yet readiness on the part of industries remain inadequate. Hence, the 2017 PCO Summit aims to:
  1. Determine programs and outcomes achieved on the Philippine Clean Water Act from the perspective of various agencies mandated for its implementation;
  2. Determine best practices on water quality management from complying companies (small, medium and large);
  3. Discuss with PCOs and Managing Heads the measures necessary to attain compliance to RA 9275 and the news GES; and
  4. Showcase services and remedies available to environmental processes, particularly on water and wastewater management;
